If you live with a roommate or boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or other person, it can often be difficult to get along with them. At some point, the other person will do something or say something to get on your nerves. It is almost an inevitability! So, what can you do about it? First of all, realize that we are not meant to be exactly like each other. If that were the case, could you imagine how boring this world would be?! Secondly, realize that because of the differences you and your loved ones may share that you will have to compromise.

For example, my boyfriend and I live together in a small one-bedroom apartment. I am an excessive neat-freak and at first, he was not. However, before I agreed to allow him to move in, I made him well aware of this fact as well as my intolerance for slovinliness! As a result, he has almost completely shed his sloppy ways and has come to appreciate what a neat living space can mean. There are some small things here and there such as dishes being left in the sink or books being left out in piles on the desk, but I had to stop myself and ask, “Are these things really worth arguing over? Or am I just being petty by bringing them up?” When you live with someone else, you really have to pick and choose your battles. You need to realize that that person is not an exact replica of you; they don’t think exactly like you, therefore the same things that bother you may not be the same things that bother them. Give them credit where credit is due. Too often we are hard on others who may have done a thousand things right but messed up on one thing. We tend to focus on the one thing that they did wrong versus the other nine hundred and ninety-nine things that they did right. Now, is that fair? The best way to get along well with others is to sit down and talk about your feelings.

I know this sounds cheesy, but if you sit down and really hash out what it is that is bothering you without offending the other person, then you will both be much better because of it. It is not appropriate to allow things to go on, all the while letting it bother you and build up inside until one day you finally snap at them. Learn how to be an adult and present such issues as a way to voice your opinions on things. A lot of the time, the other person doesn’t realize that they’ve even done something wrong and will be more than happy to address the issue. Similarly, if you work in an office environment and have a group presentation to give at an upcoming meeting, you need to collaborate and be able to work with other team members, expressing your ideas, concerns and opinions. Communication is such an important and necessary part of having successful relationships with any person you meet.

In nearly every sphere of life, especially those of business, tall people are more in demand than folks with lesser height. Folks who command a better height seem to have an undue advantage of commanding better respect than short people. Tall people also have advantage in nearly every form of sport. Unless a person is working in a low gallery coal mine or in a similar situation, there is no advantage for being short. To increase your height, your body should be within the growing age (preferably 24 years or less), although you can still add a few inches after that. However, the result for the effort taken is pathetic. There are 7 things responsible for your height – heredity, upbringing, school conditioning, posture maintenance, diet, exercise, and lifestyle. Let us discuss these and see if there are any workarounds:

Heredity: While heredity is an important determining factor in the growth of the body, hereditary tendencies can be overcome to a large extent provided that growth retarding influences acquired or cultivated in early childhood are eliminated.Another way to counteract a heredity tendency is to consult a doctor and take hormone inducing medication, although I would not advice this unless you’re facing a lot of problems due to height deficiency.

Upbringing: How often have you seen babies pushed around in growth retarding prams with their body hunched up, neck drooped forward, back bent, chest strapped across and legs cramped? Their bodies are constricted for hours at a stretch with no room to stretch and move, which tortures their spine and other growth areas. When traveling, babies should be put in perambulators that have sufficient room to move around. They should also be put on a rug with plenty of sunshine for a few hours so that it will play and kick around wrestling with the sunbeams; and then fall into a growth inducing sleep after getting tired. You don’t need to coddle them in a feather bed or in a lap; a hard couch is also good enough and as long as a light blanket is thrown over him, he will not catch a cold. Don’t allow the baby to curl up in a ball, it will retard growth. Never allow the habit of covering the head when sleeping; this will disallow fresh oxygen from reaching their lungs which is very much required for growth.

Schooling Condition: Even today, children are herded together in schools which are badly ventilated and improperly lighted. They hardly get any freedom and are required to sit or stand for very long periods. Desk seats are often the wrong height and they are made to carry heavy loads of books. All this gives rise to crooked spines, stooped shoulders and flat chests; at a time when the bones are most malleable and the body is growing at the fastest.

Posture Maintenance: Whether you’re sitting, standing, walking or sleeping, if you do not maintain the correct posture it will affect the growth of your body. If you slouch, the whole weight of the body is thrown on the spinal column and the cartilaginous substance between the vertebrae is pressed down and shortened. It is very important to maintain a correct posture always; back straight, head held high and the chest forward.

Diet: Diet plays a very important role in growth and height increase. Never allow your children to select their food; it is the job of the mother to ensure that nourishing and wholesome food in sufficient quantity is provided to the children. Ensure a healthy breakfast to start the day. Fruits like banana, apples, oranges, grapes, etc should also be given along with porridge or milk, shredded wheat, oatmeal, etc. Lunch and dinner should comprise of plenty of vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, collard greens, etc. Soups and rice bran are also great to have as starters. Avoid pastries, meat dishes, pies, and all sweets in general. Instead, let them eat fruits, honey rolls, or currant puddings. Better still, do some research and provide them more food that contains Calcium and vitamin D.

Exercise: Proper and regular exercise helps you to increase height as well as overall growth. Pull ups are a great way to increase height, so have an iron rod at about 6-7 feet height. If you’re a girl and find this difficult, try to just hang on to the rod as much as you can. Besides this, you should do a lot of stretching exercises. Bending and touching toes, kicking exercise without bending the knees, twisting the face left to right, are some good exercises. Here’s an easy one: Stand at ease. Then lever hands out to level of shoulders while elevating the body on the tips of the toes. Inhale deeply and then exhale, lowering arms and body to normal. Consult a trainer for some good practical exercises.

Life Style: Use of tobacco is not only detrimental to growth but is directly responsible to chest ailments and other serious complications; so kick that habit if you want to increase your height. Sleep not only gives the body rest, it also repairs and induces growth, so an eight hour sound sleep at night is a bare minimum. Keeping your metabolism and hydration at an optimum level, avoiding tight fitting clothes, regular stretching of the muscles and spine supplemented by deep breathing and outdoor exercise in fresh air, are some of the things you can add to your routine.

It is a fact that sun can be very damaging to our bodies. It is not only our skin that suffers, but also our hair. Exposure of hair to solar radiation makes hair susceptible to important chemical changes. If hair has been chemically treated (dyed, bleached, perm), it becomes more fragile and chemical changes due to the exposure to solar radiation become more evident. UV radiation alters hair cuticle cells, the most external part of the hair, making surface of the hair porous and rough. As a consequence, hair becomes hard to comb and it breaks easily since its resistance has been reduced. This can happen even after a few hours of solar exposure. More precisely, solar radiation is responsible for breaking disulfide bonds and decomposing an extremely important amino acid, tryptophan.

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that becomes part of the hair proteins (keratins). Amino acids are strictly connected to the essential course of vital processes. So, in order to protect hair from sun radiation, tryptophan in the hair has to be protected. Common conditioners can only temporarily mask damages caused by sun exposure, because once rinsed off they loose their function. Besides, such products make hair oily and heavy. The effectiveness of Villa Borghini Hair Color Protection Treatment was compared to traditional sunscreens like Octyl Methoxycinnate. Clinical test results revealed that Villa Borghini Hair Color Protection Treatment gave 4 times better protection. Villa Borghini Hair Color Protection Treatment dramatically reduces disulfide bond cleavage. It provides great protective function during sun exposure by reducing degradation of Tryptophan in chemically treated hair.

According to the clinical tests of Villa Borghini Hair Color Protection Treatment, these results were obtained: – Tryptophan degradation was reduced up to 25% – Disulfide bond cleavage was reduced up to 45% – Hair surface damage was reduced by 2.6 times more, compared to classical sunscreens – Significant improvement in the general and specific health of the hair The restoration and protection of hair by Villa Borghini products is done through physical not chemical action. This means that color treated hair becomes silky and shiny after the first application. The shampoo cleans scalp and hair very well due to active ingredients. Special cation (Dimethylparamidopropyl Laurdimonium Tosylate) penetrates and fortifies hair form inside protecting natural and artificial hair color giving back the hair its natural characteristics of beauty and shine. The shampoo closes sheet-like cells of hair cuticle (the outermost layer of hair fiber) by making a protective film around each hair strand. Disodium EDTA neutralizes damaging action (to the hair pigment) of magnesium and calcium found in water. The cream amplifies and locks in the action of the shampoo because of the high concentration of the active ingredient, Dimethylparamidopropyl Laurdimonium Tosylate, making hair shiny, smooth and preventing against breakage. It makes a protective film around each individual hair strand by closing sheet-like cells of the hair cuticle. It preserves natural pigment and color of color-treated hair from the damaging action of the environment and sun.
